Artist Highlight ; Namie Amuro
Following the massive success of her newest “Best” album,”BEST FICTION”, which sold almost 700,000 copies in just it’s first week and got the #1 spot on the charts, we’re going to look a little further into the happening of Namie Amuro as of late.

Namie Amuro in "Fine"
As of last year, Namie got her first #1 album since the year 2000 with “PLAY”, and earlier this year she got her first number-1 single in 10 years with “60s70s80s”. Following the increasing success of the aging pop star, she has released a Compilation album that trumps all her first week album sales since GENIUS 2000 way back when.
Namie has been promoting Tsutaya records, as well. She’s recently been on the cover of Oricon Style, Fine, and Cawaii, while also releasing her fan club magazine, “fanspace”. The promotion for “BEST FICTION” was some of the finest this year, and the tracklisting was to die for, with 15 singles and 2 new tracks.
Of course, the fact that all the song from “60s70s80s”, Amuro’s most recent #1 single, are on the album also make the album a very lucrative deal. Of course, though, her most recent studio album “PLAY” has just charted it’s 52nd week, making it a full year since it’s release. It has sold over 540,000 copies.
All in all, the last few years have been very successful for Amuro, landing a #1 album, which stayed at Number 1 for two weeks, a #1 single and a mega-selling #1 Best-Of album.
Also, thankfully, her music quality has not suffered, and if anything, has become of better. While Namie continues to make great music, She is now also selling fantastically, which is wonderful.
